This EMS music stand is made of solid sheesham and has an adjustable height and tilt. It is designed by The Early Music Shop of Bradford England, one of the leading sellers of medieval, renaissance and baroque musical instruments. The stand opens to a full height of 54.5 inches, which is from the bottom of stand to top of music tray. Stand can be lowered and raised to the height you prefer and the height from bottom of stand to the bottom of tray ranges from 29 to 42 inches. The base measures 17.5 inches between the ends of the three beautiful carved claw feet that support the fully carved pillar. The music tray has a lyre design and is made of sheesham and brass. The music tray is approximately 19.75 inches in width by 12.5 inches in height.

I am so pleased with this beautiful stand. I am 5'6" and it is a perfect height for me while I'm sitting on a padded stool, and raises high enough as needed for standing. If you are much taller, get the next size up - the Victoria. The stand is wonderfully made and has already brought  many compliments during the living history events I play at, fitting the Victorian era look very well. It's made sturdily, and if I ever need one that has 2 stand backs, I know where to order from!

The customer service is also excellent, as I emailed several times with a number of questions and concerns prior to making a decision to purchase, and was responded to with courtesy and clarity.

When the original product was assembled, the "tray" where music sits was not level - it tilted to the left. It appeared to be a problem with the small wood attachment where the tray was anchored to the stand. I contacted customer service and they quickly arranged for me to return the tray and top shaft of the stand, and then shipped me replacement pieces. The replacement pieces resolved the issue. The customer service individual was very responsive to my initial communication and handled everything quickly and effectively.

I'm giving 4 stars only because the original product had a problem. I am very satisfied with the stand after using the replacement parts. I do think the issue might have been detected before the original product was shipped if it had been assembled by someone to check that parts were of the needed quality.

I am beyond thrilled with my spectacular new music stand., I searched high and low for just the right one and this is perfect.  It was beautifully made with lovey warm wood, very carefully packed and expeditiously shipped. For me, it brings back a little bit of the past adding to the traditional music I so love to play.
